Here is the new LMI Instrument Glue advertised on their website. I liked the old glue... Any thoughts?

LMI YELLOW INSTRUMENT GLUE

ADHESIVESYellowInstrumentGlue8ozFGX400

Over the years we have provided guitar makers with the best possible adhesives to use on their instruments. Now we are offering a new wood glue with an amazing set of features that exceeds anything else we have offered in the past.

Here’s why we like it:

Excellent sanding properties. Will not gum up sanding belts like most glues (a problem with FG and others), and soundboards are spared messy sanding residue from the glue.
Discreet florescent dye additive allows you to clearly see (in black light) “invisible” glue residue that can ruin a finish, saving untold hours spent repairing finishes. Try it!
Easier than other glues to clean up.
Dries harder than other commercial glues (some believe this makes it a better “tone transference medium”).
Excellent hold strength with a variety of exotic woods, including oily woods like Cocobolo (though common sense cleaning and surface preparation should be used on these woods).
Clamps can be removed in 30 minutes, even in warm temperatures (though it’s best to wait an hour or longer). You can begin machine sanding (which introduces heat) in as little as 90 minutes if you are in a pinch for time.
Repairable. Joints separate at around 190 degrees (about the same as FG) but more heat resistant at lower temperatures.
Non-toxic, environmentally friendly.

CUSTOMER QUESTIONS

Q: Has this glue been used to make guitars before?
A: Yes, it has been extensively tested and has already been used to make hundreds of guitars of various types.

Q: Is there a difference between white and yellow glues in general?
A: Not chemically. Yellow dyes are sometimes added to glues (not by us) for marketing purposes only.

Q: Have we seen this glue marketed to instrument makers before?
A: No, and by the way, we feel it is very different and much better than Titebond, despite its similar appearance.

Q: Is the old FG glue still available from you or elsewhere?
A: No, the manufacturer has discontinued this product.

Q: Should I continue to use my old FG glue?
A: During the last year, a few builders encountered problems with the FG coagulating in the bottle. If this happens to you, please contact LMI for a replacement (with FGX). Fortunately, any glue joints made from this problem glue are fine. If you have not experienced this problem then there is no need for concern.

Q: How should I store the FGX?
A: Do not freeze, room temperature (70-85 degrees F) is best. One year shelf life under worst case conditions, much longer when stored properly. Best to use at room temperature – will chalk at cold temperatures.

Q: Will the UV additive show if the performer plays the guitar under black light?
A: With proper joinery, you will not see the glue line. Glue should not be used to fill gaps in any case, and doing so would create the only case where it would be visible.

What is FG? (or what was?)

Sounds interesting. I'll probably get some and try it out. I was not a huge fan of their other white glue. I have never been dissapointed by Titebond. But I am interested in any glue that will behave like Titebond and not mess up sanding belts.
